Athlete Alexaida Guédez died during a race in Naguanagua

Marathon runner Alexaida Guédez died on Sunday, August 22, when she was participating in a 5-kilometer race in Naguanagua, Carabobo state.

The 30-year-old athlete collapsed about 50 meters before reaching the finish line, very close to where her son was waiting for her, the newspaper reported. The Carabobeño.

Guédez was immediately transferred to a health center where specialists tried to revive her, but were unsuccessful. The athlete died due to a sudden heart attack.

Alexaida Guédez lived in La Isabelica, in Valencia. She had about 16 years of sports career as a high performance athlete, was a national champion and winner of the Gatorade competition. He also won the Valencia half marathon, the Caracas Rock and the IVOO Race.

She was the daughter of the coach and leader of the Carabobeño sport Luis Guédez. He graduated from the University of Carabobo with a degree in Accounting.

The athlete leaves a 10-year-old soccer player.

Guédez had no recent open medical record. In fact, he had resumed his preparatory training for eight weeks.
