The politics around scientific dissent get nastier as Dr. Peter McCullough, a top cardiologist with over 1000 publications and over 500 citations in the National Library of Medicine and an accomplished researcher frequently interviewed for his concerns about the COVID-19 vaccines, was sued by Baylor Scott & White Health to stop declaring any affiliation with the Dallas-based health system. Dr. McCullough, featured by TrialSite numerous times, has been a big advocate of early-onset treatment for COVID-19 patients with a variety of existing approved treatments, used off label. In February, Dr. McCullough and both BSWH and HealthTexas Provider Network entered into a confidential separation agreement, one in which he was not to mention his affiliation with the health system. BSWH is playing hardball, seeking $1 million in monetary relief, along with non-monetary relief. Is there more to this story?
