Two healthcare workers in UK have experienced anaphylactoid reactions from the Pfizer COVID vaccine. Anaphylactoid reaction can have rashes, difficulty in breathing, and drop in blood pressure. An anaphylactoid reaction is different from an anaphylaxis reaction which can be life-threatening. Both healthcare workers are recovering well.
A notable point is that both healthcare workers who developed the allergic reaction were severely allergic to other substances as well and carried adrenaline injections with them.
MHRA has advised against administering the Pfizer vaccine to anyone that has similar allergic reaction history.
Despite the allergies the vaccination program continues to roll out in UK.
